Stroke Yourselves ...

.. said the coiach to the big fish wriggling impaiently in front of him.

This is Year Two of the Duel at the Puel (Kits Pool).  The big, sleek, obviously well-fed Whale Shark and the mangy, under-nourished Mako (actually, I think he's a refugee barracuda hoping to avoid extradition to his native Colombia on charges of blood doping) stood in front of the coach, eyeing each other and sizing up this year's chances.

The Whale Shark is quite confident, having checked out the Mako's octane usage during several training sessions so far this season.  Nothing to worry about, really .. the Whale hasn't even really started training yet, but his kick at the end of barely demanding sessions has caught the Mako looking apprehensive several times.

Mako has just never been able to keep up, especially when the turbo jets flare out of Whale's side-body fins.  Just yesterday, in a joint training session, Lesser Mako was actually PREENING and BOASTING that he had managed to NOT FALL TOO FAR BEHIND on he last lap .. that he actually manahged to stay in sight of the Whale's wake.

Who would YOU bet on ?
