February turned out to be a great month for races, but an average month for mileage. A minor injury, a couple of taper weeks, and a recovery week kept my weekday miles at well under my goal of 50 weeday kms per week. As for the other resolutions, riding to school 3 times/ week has been much easier now that it isn't raining everyday, I am still keeping a log of all my runs and rides, and my eating habits weren't as good as they were in Jan, but are still better than they were last year.
I have done 2 races since the last progress report: The First Half Half Marathon on Feb 18th and the Dirty Duo 50km on March 4th. Although the half marathon was not on my list of resolution runs, I was able to reach a goal time that I have had for a few years. My goal time was 1:30 and I broke that by almost 3 minutes. I also had a strong run at the Dirty Duo. My time was only slighty slower (7 minutes) than last year on a course that I'm pretty sure was farther (can anybody else back me up on that?). I was hoping to finish in the top 10, but finished a couple of minutes short of that mark.
On schedule for this month is the highway madness run (the second run on my resolution list), and the World Run at then end of the month. Looking forward to both of them!
