Can almost see the finish line of 2012...

Not a bad year from the personal athletic goal achievement perspective.  Could have done better with a new set of knees and lot fewer work hours every week, but I figure I earn a cookie for doing not bad at all with what I had to work with, especially because my list of goals was as long as my arm:

  • made the top 3 in the CFA standings, completed more than 10 CFA scheduled events and more than 3 flash events.  Slightly edged-out of top 10 in Bagger Challenge, just about did the stretch of the TCT I'd hoped to, did complete my 20th KneeKnacker but it was my only 50K due to knackered knees, had many running adventures but they didn't include MOMAR or any of the Hash runs.
  • did volunteer on the back end of several running events and the CFA Steering Committee.  Didn't do a marathon or tri, but did complete the Whistler Gran Fondo, so bagged those bonus points!
  • still semi-injured, so off the 100-mile (run) diet, but not complaining because I'm running 4-6X/week
  • with 4 weeks to go, close to hitting my goal for Tuesday night intervals with Capilano Eagles.  Off on the swim objectives, good on the bike goals, lifted a lot of rocks this year, did a fair bit of snowshoeing and some backcountry touring.  Bonus points for maintaining my Canadian Ski Instructor (CSIA) and ski coach (CSCF) certifications.
  • drank enough water and lots of beer
