One Day on the West Coast Trail

Anyone interested in running the West Coast Trail? I'm looking at an epic day at the end of July/start of August. My pace is not stellar but I'm decent at slogging (average 50k trail race pace is about 7 hours). There are a number of very helpful resources (the report on here along with Gary Robbins' blog and other trip reports) but tips from those who have been on the trail this year would be appreciated.

I entered the Squamish 50 ultra trail race this year (August 10) in the 50-mile distance but will be unable to run it as I'll be out of the country due to a big change in my wife's work situation. This would be the famous HP 20, 230 lumin head lamp for the hardcore middle of the night trail running. Four setting with easy to use switch. I personally use a couple sets of rechargeable batteries that I rotate (not included).

100km Biel running days 2013 (oldest 100km run of its kind)

We are from the Organization committee for the international running event “Biel running days” in Switzerland. This event contains: a kids run, a half marathon, a marathon and an 100km ultra run (which can be done alone, as a couple or in a 5 person team). What makes these runs particularly special is that they take place at night (except the kids run); the first runners begin at 10pm.

The holiday weekend is almost here, so it's time to plan for Sunshine in September.

I hope you will join us for this fantastic 21 or 24k run on the trails from Langdale Ferry Terminal. A warning though - with this event having been cancelled last year, it's been a couple of years since i've been on these trails. Expect the directions to be out of date and to get lost! But don't worry - you can't go too far off track.

Given the ferry schedule, this year's event will start Sunday, September 2, at 10:30am from the Langdale Terminal. This means anyone coming over on the ferry will need to be on the 9:40 sailing from Horseshoe Bay.

Goal is to ship you back on the 2:15pm sailing from Langdale, getting you back to HB at 3pm.

I will leave it to you to carpool amongst yourselves.

As always, I will have the car at Langdale and you can leave dry clothes etc in the car for the return trip. Wheatberries is still in the ferry terminal and I'll have baked goods to enjoy after the run.
