Sibylle's Year - Looking Back On 2012 and How I Did With My New Year's Resolutions

Time to evaluate how I did on my goals for 2012.  I feel even less than a runner and more like a cyclist now, but since I signed up for the 2013 Berlin Marathon, I better find the runner in me again....

Goal #1: Healing the painful heelspur on my left foot.
Evaluation: Accomplished.  It took a while but I am running pain free these days. 10/10

Goal #2: Participating in the Vancouver New Years Day Fat Ass - custom 10km course
Evaluation: Accomplished.  10/10

Goal # 3: Participating in at least the following other events/races: 8.6/10

  • Capilano Canyon MardiGras Night Run - 10/10
  • Mountain Highway Madness  - not sure what happened, perhaps the snow scared me off? 0/10
  • XTC 25K - (did a custom course) 8/10
  • Bill's Great Peak Ascent 10/10
  • Capilano Canyon Midsummer Nite Night Run - wouldn't miss it. 10/10
  • Go Deep or Go Home - mini custom 10/10
  • Sunshine in September - cancelled n/a
  • Go Deep - 10/10
  • M&M's - 10/10
  • Pure Satisfaction 10/10

Goal # 5: 5 peaks in the Peak Bagger Challenge  - oops 1/5 = 0.5/10

Goal # 6: ride my bike to work - weather permitting (I've been averaging 3.5 per week rain or shine and am hoping to keep that up. - done 10/10

Goal #7: start going to the gym again at least 1x/week for core and upper body work Hm, started on this, but cancelled my membership.  Still doing weights at home, but could do better. Finding time is an issue 4/10

Goal # 8: get on a more consistence stretching program and become more flexible - easily reach toes!  Inconsistent effort. Finding time is an issue 5/10

Goal #9: Add some other sports to the mix occasionally, ie. Badminton, kayaking, Ultimate. Realistically, I won't have time to add this into a weekly routine, but doing something different every once in a while would be nice.  Ahem, I went kayaking once and swam once a week in the ocean over the summer month until it got to cold to peservere. 5/10

Total tally would be 6.6/10
