Flash - Burnaby Lake 80K

2 Mar 2013 07:00
Location:
Burnaby Lake, Burnaby, BC

What: An 80K run at Burnaby Lake, Burnaby, BC.

Why: A Fool has signed up for the Pacific Rim 24 hour run in mid-March and thinks that a little training might be of some value in that endeavour.

Who: Anyone wanting an early season 80K on a nice, flat 10K loop.  Or you may run whatever distance you wish.

Where: Meet at the Burnaby Lake Club House.  To get there take eastbound Highway 1 Exit 32 - Sprott Rd.  Go left onto Sprott Road and over the freeway .  Follow Sprott staight to its end past Kensington Avenue and park in the lot to the left of the Burnaby Lake Club House.

When: Saturday, March 2, 2013 - 07:00

Route: From the Club House follow the Burnaby Lake Loop counter clockwise.  Cross the Cariboo Dam at the east end of the lake and return on the north side.  Cross the Still Creek Bridge at the west end of the lake and go straight past the information board to the parking lot ahead of you and back to the Club House.  Now you can continue with the counter clockwise loop or go clockwise for a change of scenery.  Park maps will be handed out at the start.

Aid: Be prepared to be self-sufficient. There is water at the Club House and at the Piper Avenue washrooms.  We will also have access to our vehicles the end of each loop.

Results: Write your name, time and distance on the results sheet under the windshield wiper of Karl's silver Grand Caravan, LCT 280, parked at the start, or email your distance and time to Karl through the email link at the bottom of this event site.

Motto: Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.

Entry: There is no fee and you don't need to be a member of Club Fat Ass to participate in a Flash event, however whining is not allowed. No registration is required but please indicate your participation via the comment form below. You are responsible for your own well being and safety and should be self sufficient. Please read the Release of All Claims. By participating in this event you agree to the terms of the Release of All Claims.

1 lap plus 2km for me please. First lap in 1:06 together with Kim, Rob and Karl.  2km as an out and back.  Thanks for a good run under nearly dry skies ;-) Karl.

I'll be good for 2 loops.

I am in! (sort of)

If that rain actually stops -- it'll be two morning loops.... with a return in the mid-afternoon for some continued loopdy-looping. Here's looking at the pineapple express drying out...
