Hi Mark,

The summit is a bit hard to find if the conditions are still 'winter like'. I was in deep snow a few weeks ago and the route was definately not well trodden!

2 bits worth...

Please pu me down for Mt Gardener

Spent a wonderful day last weekend hiking Mt Gardner on Bowen Island.

It's a well marked Route with spectecular views from the (false) peak.

Also tried Lynn peak on Sunday, but we were unable to find the trail to the actual peak after reaching the viewpoint. I didn't find a description of that one anywhere either. Any poiters, so I'll make on my next attempt?

Welcome! The trail continues

Welcome!

The trail continues North past the viewpoint: it used to be well-trod & marked?

I knew you were one

David,

Congratulations on a day well spent on Gambier. How does it feel to be a Gambier Island Masochistic Ubermensch?!!!  Feels good don't it!

a brutally exhausting trip!

according to a medical checkup a few days later, it sent my PKR reading soaring! Memories of black urine....

Thank to you & Carolyn & Neil & Dave for paving the way! Gambier is glorious!

Please mark me down for Depecier!

Ran from my house yesterday along BP, up to Seymour road, Deep Cove lookout to perimeter trail. Up to Goldie lake etc to Mt. Seymour upper parking lot.

Trudged up full on snow slopes to Depencier and then headed towards Mt. Seymour. Had to turn around at first pump due to time contraints. Back down slopes to Seymour road, ran down the road for ~6km re-entered Mushroom trail back down to BP. BP trails to home all in all a ~6hr adventure, pretty fun!

Nice work on the weekend David!

Cheers,

Mike

Epic but not the best idea a week before the Vancouver Marathon

It is taking me 5 minutes to put on my shorts these days.

I'm on the board! GRO, DAM, SLY, LYN

Bagged Lynn Peak's (North and south) yesterday.

The snow started around 750m and once past South Lynn heading to the North peak I was lucky to follow some snow shoe tracks. Just before the actual peak I had to make my own trail and was postholing up to my waist! Wahoo!

Bagged Dam and Grouse peaks today.

Myself and Arash Dowlati hiked up the Dam secret trail which was so much fun, we used our ice axes and micro spikes and hiking boots. It was a good thing because the snow was very hard and icy in some parts. We did bring snowshoes but did not need them if we stayed on the previously tracked trail. Probably only 2 people have travelled it recently one with snow shoes and one hiker. This made the going much easier!

So I'm off to a blistering start and hope to keep a baggin!

Cheers,

Mike
